2ª Quedada Montesita 2017 chronicle and photos

After a few rainy days typical of autumn, Sunday began with a radiant sun without clouds, but with temperatures typical of autumn. Around 8:30 the first participants of the 2nd Mountain Ranger began arriving in the Plaza de la Vila de Gaià.

This year the epicenter of the Quedada, was located in the town of Gaià. A population of the central Catalonia of little more than 180 inhabitants, environment and rural landscapes and that is made up of a large number of scattered farmhouses.

At 9:30, we already had more than thirty Montesas registered and more than 67 participants, who were able to enjoy a knife and fork lunch at the Restaurant de Gaià, prior to the expected routes that were announced. One of asphalt of 70 kms and one of earth of 23 kms.

After the lunch that we enjoyed in a great Montesista environment, the two advertised routes started. Spectacular landscapes, perfect asphalt roads and curve after curve that required a good feeling and concentration with the bike, the asphalt route of about 70km, made a circular passing through the towns of Praça de Lluçanes, La Torre de Oristà, Sant Feliu Sasserra, Avinyó, Balsareny i Navàs. In it we could see several models of Montesa like the Impala or King Scorpion.

The surprise jumped on the dirt road, with an inscription of more than 22 Montesas such as the Enduro, Cota or Cappra. This route through some tracks that combined slow zones with fast zones, was in a perfect state, without dust and with some humidity that was translated in the delight of its participants.

After the arrival of the routes, the family photo was taken in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and immediately afterwards the draw was made of different products contributed by the sponsors.

Another of the novelties of the Mountain Ranger, compared to the previous year, was the Exhibition of Montesas (courtesy of Karles Viva Montesa) in which we could enjoy a lot of models of Montesa perfectly preserved or restored and the corralito of sale, in where individuals could expose their Montesas to sell.

With all this and a successful participation that is consolidating this appointment little by little for any lover of Montesa Classics, the organization is already thinking about its 3rd edition, in which they will surely surprise us with more news.
